Hi, I’m Louise Luscri and I am a mum and a midwife. live in Sydney with my husband Mario and our gorgeous son, who was born in 2000.
Working with women and their partners during pregnancy is my passion and this passion means my work as a midwife and educator is very rewarding and not ‘just a job’. I have been a registered midwife since 1987, am a certified childbirth educator with the National Association of Childbirth Educators and a registered calmbirth® practitioner.
Having a baby is a life changing episode and you may feel a little over whelmed by the vast amount of information that is available. To help expectant parents through this exciting, but occasionally stressful, time I share unbiased and evidenced based information through my educational courses and workshops. As well as running courses I continue to work as a midwife part time.
My time as a midwife and educator has resulted in publishing my first book called From the Heart, a book of birth positive and inspiring birth stories and I hope you can take some time to look over it.
Education is important to me, and I’m studying for my Master’s Degree in Midwifery, which is a three year program at UTS. I hold a current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and have presented at National and International midwifery conferences. I facilitate as a childbirth educator at a major teaching hospital in Sydney and was very involved in designing and presenting the "Keeping Birth Normal" program.
You may be pleased to know I am one of the few educators to have professional indemnity insurance; this enables women to claim rebates for their birth preparation from health funds.
