About Louise
Louise and Mario are parents to a gorgeous son, born in 2000 and live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney.
Louise has been a registered midwife since 1987, is a certified childbirth educator with the National Association of Childbirth Educators and is a registered calmbirth® practitioner.
Louise is passionate about "keeping birth normal" and her passion became her business. Louise presents evidence based, non biased information to expectant parents in her courses. As well as facilitating programs presented by All about Birth, Louise facilitates prenatal education at a major teaching hospital in Sydney and works part time in a midwives clinic.
Louise has worked in many areas: labour units, birth centre, and midwifery manager of maternity units.
Louise has been with many women and their family as a birth support and understands the importance of being a birthing companion. One of the highlights that Louise talks fondly of is birthing with her family (she is one seven) and friends and "catching" their babies and they range between 18 years – 3 years old!
Louise has presented at National and International midwifery conferences and holds current Certificate IV in Workplace training.
Professional Associations and Memberships include:
- NSW Nurses Association
- NSW Midwives Association
- National Association of Childbirth Education (NACE)
Louise is actively involved in the NSW National Association of Childbirth Education (NACE), and currently holds the position of NACE Professional Development Coordinator for NSW. Louise has held this voluntary position for four years and is responsible for organising seminars throughout NSW.
